UMNO Youth = BN GANGSTAS

Media buffer Media buffer

DAP chairman Karpal Singh giving a press conference at
the Parliamnet here today.
"They were pushed around and abused. This is something that should not happen in Parliament. We have no time for gangsters to come here and threaten MPs. I regret that the police did not carry out their duty just now.

"The commotion should have attracted the police officers on duty but no one came to help.

Although I am on a wheelchair, I will not be cowed or intimidated by anyone," he said, adding that something must be done urgently to prevent such gangsterism in Parliament.

"Where is the security? I want the Speaker (Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia) to take action as rhetoric in the House is not enough and I hope he will do the necessary after this," added Karpal.

Pandikar Amin advised Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to be patient and have confidence in him when the matter was raised by the Opposition in the House right after the incident.

Giving the assurance that he will ensure the safety of Parliamentarians he said it does not require the police to chase away individuals who posed threats to MPs as he, the Speaker, had the right to order anyone to leave Parliament.

[Photo]Anwar told reporters in Parliament lobby: "We (Pakatan Rakyat) regret and condemn such acts of intimidation of MPs. We told the Speaker that a mere assurance was not sufficient.

"We want immediate action to be taken, including the assurance from the police and the government to ensure the safety and freedom of MPs."

"I want to tell Barisan Nasional and Umno MPs not to make it (the commotion) a beginning with Karpal as it will spread to other people as well," he added.

Meanwhile, DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang (DAP-Ipoh Timur) said: what happened was shameful and outrageous.

"In the history of Malaysian parliament, it has never happened before in the past 51 years. It is a violation of the sanctity of Parliament."

Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club chairman (BNBBC) chairman Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, who went to persuade the Umno Youth members to leave Parliament, also apologised to his colleagues who were involved in the commotion because no matter who is right or wrong, such a thing should not happen in Parliament.

"We should respect the law and should not provoke each other (during such incidents). We will investigate and talk to the Speaker on enhancing security to protect MPs," he added.

[Photo] [Photo]Karpal Singh's son, Gobind Singh Deo (DAP-Puchong), and Liew Chin Tong (DAP-Bukit Bendera) , who left the House to find out about the commotion outside, were also threatened and challenged by the Umno Youth members to a fight.

Both parties were separated by security officers.

The group only left the compound after all DAP MPs had left.

Earlier, Umno Youth vice-chief Khairy Jamaluddin held a press conference in Parliament lobby asking Karpal Singh to show proof within 24 hours on his allegation that the wing was responsible for the live bullets he received last week.

"We challenge him to produce the proof. If he fails to do so, we will call him a liar with no credibility. We also dare him to repeat the allegations outside Parliament," he added.

- Shameful episode but not surprising for Umno sanctioned gangsters...

Perak Joke- the State of the Nation

Joke from Perak state after the PKR Umno debacle, as told :

"Do you know why Najib had to come to the Istana twice on February 5 before the new MB was announced?" a guy asked.

"Najib came in at 9.50am, left at 10.35am, and came back again at 11.21am and left in a hush by 11.34am. Why? Forgot to bring the cheque booklah!"

Nuff said!

Closer to home, why I don't posts as often as I would like to" crappy internet connection keeps tripping every hour or so, computer hangs itself!"

Wat to do lah!!?

Thaipusam day

Another eventful Sunday! Sadly did not make it for the services as things were in a bit of a mess: parents planning to catch a ride back to Ipoh/Taipng after 2 and half weeks in Perth, visiting Raub yet again since we won't be going next week, and planning friendly dinner in the evening originally scheduled for reunion with parents...well as they say, all best laid plans...hmmm...

in the end we left at 11.30 am nad had to pass throught the BAtu Caves area where the devotees were just about (hopefuy) finishing their visit to the temple. It was smooth going till we hit the roundabout and turned left and there was the traffic jam, parked cars along the highways and the millions of people throghing the Batu Cave temple area plus devotees going up and down the steps. Quite a sight! Kavadis could be seen going up the middle lane of the steps created specially for them. This is my first time witnessing the event upclose (not really close, but close enough). Here's a pic taken from NST:

Plenty of tourists as well. I'm not the only one fascinated by the sight; the youngest girl has voiced her 'intention' to visit next year!

Neways, we left the jam and shot off to Raub, reached the camp at 1.30 pm, and had a reunion of sorts with our NS girl, handed over chocs from her sis, books, doughnuts, etc. She's on duty next week so no visit.

On the way back, we had to pass the Caves again and the crowds were still there!

The evning ended with a nice quiet dinner at Ying Ker Lou Hakka restaurent at the Curve. Sorry no pics 'cos we finished the food and then only remebered the camera, we were that hungry! Maybe next time.

Markus Ng- God Bless

I came upon this posting in Zorro's blog: a young man who called himself Anak Bangsa Malaysia and who regularly came for the PJ virgils against ISA, one of the many dedicated Malaysian who made time and effort to show their support against ISA. Who was he? This posting from his blog: http://liltots.wordpress.com/2009/01/

"As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:38-42

So easy to serve God instead of loving God. God help me choose what is better."

So Markus chose to serve God and his fellow Malaysians...he had an urgency about him as if he knew or maybe sensed that his time here would be short, that God in His infinite wisdom and love, had other plans for him...In his short but eventful lifetime, Markus left his footprints and many were were touched by him.An excerpt from his blog, as posted by his brother:

"We are so proud of you. We are proud to know that your death is not in vain. We are proud to know that you have made a difference in many lives that you came in contact with during your short time here. You were a friendly person, full of humility and also had a vision for a better Malaysia. I could see your love for the country, to see our country united under one banner, under one race called bangsa Malaysia. I hope this dream comes true and I too dare hope for a better future. You know, we sang ‘Negaraku’ at your memorial service. It was so unconventional, but yet I know if you were there, that was what you would have wanted."

God Bless you Markus for those lives you have touched during your time here.

Malaysia Bolih! KL International Marathon and the Perak crisis

Just got this in the mail: You may have read this, else goto this link for further information.

http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/Friday/Sport/2472280/Article/index_html

So it seems FTAAA is yelling blue murder cos MAAA beat them at their own game! Speculation is that they'll organise their own marathon seeing as how they have registered KLIM. Malaysian runners rejoice 'cos it'll mean another marathon to call their own.

Elsewhere, people are shaking their heads and just comparing it to the political scenario here especially with the Perak government changing hands due to the greediness of a few 'frogs'. Well Pakatan can only become stronger from this incident, at least they know who their enemies from within are! And come the next election, BN will truly become D End.

a new chapter

behold a new day has begun...2009 started with a bang. ...new job, new people, new environment, new economic situation....now into my 2nd month and enjoying it, but still lots to learn. Of course, we never ever stop learning do we?

In any job it's never the work, but the people we work with or meet that makes a difference...But one thing always remain true: God's love; He is always there, forever and always...
